Access to terrestrial Broadband (DSL & Fiber to the Home [FTTH]) are key economic development indicators in rural areas in Georgia and residents of rural Counties like Wheeler County are suffering due in part to poor Broadband (defined as 10 Mbps down / 1 Mbps up) coverage.
Both the Federal Government and The Georgia Legislature have made Rural Broadband a hot topic and legislation, as well as potential funding, is pending to possibly help provide Broadband to more Wheeler County residents.
One problem Independent ISP’s are facing is the lack of good maps when it comes to the digital divide since getting some incumbents to share accurate coverage maps is an extremely complicated and time-consuming task, if provided by the incumbent carrier at all, and current Government provided maps are inaccurate to say the least.
So we need your help! Please take a minute and let us know if you have Internet services, how fast your Internet is, and if you can’t get Internet we WANT to know that as well. There are only 3 required fields: Type of Location, Can you get Internet Service currently and Your Address so we really are just asking for a moment of your time.
We appreciate your time and help and look forward to helping bridge the digital divide in Wheeler County, Georgia.
One last thing – please remember to share and tell your friends. The more information we have the better our maps are!
